One of the main reasons that BMX racing is so exciting is because racers
are closely matched by age and skill level.

The classes for boys are: Rookie, Novice, Expert
For the girls: Girls
Their age groups are: 5 & under, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17-
18, 19-25, 26-34, 35-40, 41 & over

For the boys, it takes 15 race wins to move up to the Novice class, and
20 race wins to move up to the Expert class.  Racers can move up
voluntarily at any time.

And there's a large bike class for the older set, and kids who use it as a
second class: Cruisers
Their age groups: 8 & under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-24, 25-29, 30-
34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55 & over
